Getting to take a week off of work to spend time with my most favorite people in the universe. :) <3

When I was in college I lived in a colder climate then the Vegas heat I grew up in so I always loved the change and fresh snow falls during the holidays. I always said there was something so calming after it snowed. Since moving to Kula, one of my favorite parts of the holiday season has been being able to shed my winter coat for winter bikini; nothing better than making a Maui-style snowman on the beach, with shells for buttons and grass skirt :) Also love the challenge of finding that perfect gift for loved ones and seeing their joy when they open it and see how much they mean to you. Happy holidays everyone!!

I honestly love the element of our family coming together and just sharing good memories and funny stories! It’s the best to see love in action! And of course I love getting/giving my share of tiff’s jewelry!

My favorite thing about the holidays are getting to see my sister after not seeing her for about 6 months. I also love the smell of the fresh Christmas tree in our living room every morning while the CDs are on replay. Finally I love getting and giving presents to my friends and family :)

    One word: family.

What I love most about the holidays is actually the wonderful sense of anticipation. The hope that something great is going to happen, that you are going to make someone else happy, and the time you take to reflect on the instances in your life when loved ones were with you to share and laugh.

The sunsets. The sky burns orange and red during the holidays. The most perfect time to be thankful and reflect.

I love baking and cooking with my family!

Family. Spending quality time with family is what’s most important. Whether you’re on an exotic beach somewhere or sat in your old, cosy childhood home, the people around you are what matters and you have to hold on to them moments and treasure them as one day you may not be fortunate enough to have them anymore. Great company makes great holidays.

I love decorating the house with our traditional Christmas decorations (that we had since my brother and I were young) on the Saturday after Thanksgiving with my family including my Grandma. I also love waking up on Christmas morning to eat my Grandma’s Christmas tree bread. It’s the best!

My favorite part of the holidays is the realization that people all over the world are – for at least a little while – taking the time to stop, reflect, laugh, hug, appreciate, pray, hope and give.

The holidays here in Hawaii are so completely different than anything I ever experienced back on the mainland. Family and community are what it is all about. There isn’t the stigma of getting the best gift, or racing to the stores to battle the crowds. A good holiday season is when you get to spend time with family and friends each and every day. Having an open house for thanksgiving, handing out meals for the homeless, and volunteering at the senior center, it’s all about giving back! Not to mention the smells of cedar, cinnamon, and mint, the twinkling lights, and Christmas carols. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Of course I love the family time and opportunity to reflect on the past year but a guilty pleasure of mine is the excuse to dress up. I became a mom
In 2014 and am looking forward to an extra push to wear clean clothes, be festive and maybe EVEN make up and jewelry. Feeling good about myself will undoubtedly help me spread the holiday joy!

I love the giving spirit and going back home to Hawaii to have friends and family from all over come together to enjoy each other’s company and have a good time.

  • Rebecca: October 28, 2014

I LOVE to sleep more than 6 hours

What I love most about the holidays is the twinkling lights everywhere. Houses and trees trimmed in beautiful lights! It feels so special, like miracles are in the works

  • Donna F.: October 27, 2014

I love that the holiday season reminds me of my dad. It was always his favorite time of year and a time when our family was together and happy. It brings me a great deal of warmth and comfort to just think about that.

    Christmas songs!

  • Hannah Lopez: October 27, 2014

I’m at university all the way in London right now, and my family is in Hawaii. I love the holidays because I get to come home and celebrate with all my family. And no holiday season would be complete without the smell of Christmas trees filling the house and our shabu shabu dinner!

  • Katie K: October 27, 2014

Family time! However spending time with loved ones amidst twinkling Christmas lights, the sounds of a crackling fire and the comforting smells of tasty treats always bring me a sense of contentment and joy! I love the sights, sounds and familiar smells of the holidays while being surrounded by those I love most!
